$20 & 30 Minutes to Feed a Family of 4 in a Healthy Manner:
I’m sure you have been turned off from home cooked family dinners due to the time, energy, and cost associated with it. What if I told you, you can create a healthy well thought out meal for only $20 and it would only take you 30 minutes to make?
I know, the answer is: “YES, show me the recipe and the shopping list.”
|1 clove of crushed garlic||$0.49|
|1 large diced onion||$0.99|
|1 pound of boneless skinless chicken breasts (cubed)||$6.99|
|2 oz. water||$0.00|
|1, 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes||$0.79|
|5.5 oz. uncooked brown rice||$1.99|
|1/2 tsp. ground turmeric||$3.99|
|1/8 tsp chili powder||$2.99|
|Salt & Pepper to Taste||$0.00|
|Diced Green Olives to Garnish (add at end) *optional*|

Heat extra virgin olive oil or spray a large nonstick frying pan with cooking spray, then sauté garlic & onions. Once garlic and onions are lightly browned, add the chicken. Brown chicken for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Add water, tomatoes, uncooked rice, and spices. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes on low. Stir, and continue to cook for another 10 minutes on low, adjusting liquid if needed. (Add chicken broth if too dry). ENJOY!
